Meet the Team
Dr. Mamiko and her team have dedicated their lives to improving the practice of pediatric dentistry in the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Mamiko Kuriya
Dr. Mamiko Kuriya, originally from Tokyo, Japan, embraces the cultural differences she experienced growing up in both countries. She completed her Dental School and Pediatric Dental residency at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, obtaining her master's degree in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mamiko is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and actively participates in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, where she previously served as president.
In 2015, she founded Ballard Pediatric Dentistry, creating a space dedicated to love, peace, and safety for children. Dr. Mamiko's dream of becoming a kids' dentist began in first grade and she is grateful to live that dream every day. She also serves as a board member for a Mission for World Wide Health, providing dental care to medically compromised children in Nicaragua and Mexico. Her ultimate goal is to extend her services to underserved children globally.
Dr. Mamiko resides in Magnolia with her husband, Cam, and their children, Kaden, Emma, and Elli. In her free time, she enjoys family walks in Discovery Park, exploring cooking, and practicing yoga.
Community Involvement
At Ballard Pediatric Dentistry, we want to grow with children in the community so we can be part of the precious moments in their lives. We support local schools, sports team, and churches to provide immediate dental trauma care as well as education seminars for choosing healthy snack options and promoting good oral health.
We believe children are the future of this world and every single child is precious. At Ballard Pediatric Dentistry, we not only support children in the community, city, state, county but also those all around the world. Dr. Mamiko goes to Nicaragua once a year to help children in APROQUEN Hospital Metropolitano in Managua. There she treats children who are medically compromised or have special needs.
